Giving Tuesday

It's holiday shopping for charity!
Thursday, you’ll eat plenty of turkey and fixins’. Friday, you’ll brave the madhouse that is “Black Friday”. Monday, you’ll splurge and finish your Christmas shopping during “Cyber Monday”. Tuesday, your favorite organization is hoping you’ll have a bit of shopping money left to donate to needy dogs on “Giving Tuesday”!

Tuesday, November 28, is #GivingTuesday – a global giving movement that has been built by individuals, organizations, businesses, and communities in all 50 states and in countries around the world. Millions of people come together every year to support and champion the causes they believe in, and the communities in which they live.

At The Love Pit, our cause is the rescue and rehabilitation of bully breeds in the Dallas Ft Worth Metroplex, and with your continued support, we plan to take our mission of rescue, education, and ending Breed Specific Legislation (or BSL), National!  We are dedicated to the broken, the cast aside, the needy; by which we mean, The Love Pit doesn’t always make the easy rescues or the easy calls. We take in dogs that have been given up on and we help make them whole, before helping them find their forever home.

A half million pit bulls are euthanized every year in shelters around the country, but with your help, The Love Pit has been able to rescue over 175 dogs in 2017 alone, including dogs like Panther and Cooper, who wouldn’t be here without our help. So this #GivingTuesday, take the opportunity to join our mission and help us rescue even more dogs in 2018!

What can you do to help The Love Pit on #GivingTuesday? The ideas are up to you! Some ideas include:

Monetary donations to http://donate.thelovepitrescue.org/
Clean out your linen closet and donate old blankets and towels
Adopt your new best friend
Ask your human resources department about their charitable giving practices
Volunteer to foster a dog
Host a supply drive
Your only limit is your imagination!

Lyric and Clark are a couple of our latest saves! They are a bonded pair found as strays in San Antonio. We took them in, are getting them the medical care they deserve, and are going through adoption applications to find them a great home! They are still available – if you are interested in adoption, please visit our Adoptable Dogs page for more details!
