Last year, we spent over $35,000 towards medical needs for our dogs. This included general vetting such as spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and preventatives as well as major cases such as Penny & Tux mentioned below. In order to increase the amount of dogs we can rescue, we need a larger medical fund to support their rehabilitation needs. There are hundreds and thousands of pit bull type dogs out there needing our rescue just like Penny & Tux. This September 14th we need your help to reach our goal of $40,000 so we can do just that.
New this year – Communities Foundation of Texas, the organizer of North Texas Giving Day, has added a scheduled donation option! You can schedule your donation anytime over the week prior to NTGD. Visit our profile between Sept. 7th and Sept. 13th to schedule your donation!
Would you rather donate via the telephone? No problem! We have volunteers standing by, awaiting your call! Just give us a shout at (972) 534-5037
Do you want to come out and meet the people behind The Love Pit and hear why North Texas Giving Day means so much to them? Check out our NTGD calendar of events!
Want to know more about where your donations go and how they help? Please read our inspiring story about Penny & Tux.
Penny & Tux have a story of both recovery and redemption. They came into a local shelter with severe 3rd degree chemical burns on more than 50% of their bodies and yes, it was at the hands of ugly humans. TLP stepped up immediately and they soon began their journey of recovery. The vetting process was long and painful and the bills were piling up over months of vet visits. Luckily, we had raised close to 16k a few months prior from NTGD and we were able to fully fund all their medical needs. If it wasn’t for our amazing donors on North Texas Giving Day, none of this would have been possible. Penny & Tux would not be alive and they would have never known what it felt like to be loved. Both pups have since been adopted and are now living the good life of long walks and tug-o-war. This is what North Texas Giving Day is all about! This is what Pit Bull Rescue is all about!
