Dear TLP Family,
“We may be 6ft apart, but we are closer than ever” — Sheerin Raina, 15, Edison, N.J.
As 2020 comes to an end and we look back on all of the uncertainty, suffering and tragedy, I am incredibly grateful to be writing this letter. It’s an end of year letter full of gratitude, hope and perseverance because you helped us weather the storm.
From the generous donations, shared social media posts, countless likes, kind comments and reviews, to the increased numbers of adoptions, new fosters and volunteers, your support carried us though. It inspired us, lifted us up and gave the entire organization a sense of hope like never before. As we move forward into 2021, I want to take this opportunity to reset and share our mission, vision and core values with you and talk about some exciting goals.
At The Love Pit, our mission is to #savethepitbull through rescue, rehabilitation, training and advocacy. Our vision is to create a better world for all dogs, their families and communities, free of discrimination. Our core values are integrity, respect, professionalism, accountability, service and teamwork. Our culture is to practice kindness and to foster a non-judgmental spirit amongst the entire rescue. We aim to support one another and strive to continually improve ourselves as individuals and as part of the larger TLP family. Together, these pieces lay the foundation with how we conduct ourselves and why we show up to volunteer on a daily basis, 365 days a year. (Or 366, in this year’s case.)
This year, we are excited to announce a new Board of Directors, including a stellar group of industry professionals who are ready to advise and govern our organization as we move the needle towards sustainable growth. We are also looking forward to adding a new digital marketing and virtual events strategy to our creative marketing plan, which will drive engagement and increase brand awareness as well as help us reconnect with so many of you.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and kindness throughout the year. Despite all of the uncertainty, you remained passionate about our mission to #SavethePitBull. Despite all of the chaos, you remained steadfast with your unwavering support. Despite it all, you stuck by our side. THANK YOU!
I hope you have a safe and happy holiday, and I hope to see you in the new year!
Sincerely,
“We may be 6ft apart, but we are closer than ever” — Sheerin Raina, 15, Edison, N.J.
