This holiday season, things may look very different for families as we get together and celebrate virtually or at arm’s length. Thankfully, love and gratitude will always transcend these distances. To all of our donors, supporters and pit bull advocates everywhere, thank you for being part of the paradigm shift in how pit bulls are viewed and how they are treated. Thank you for continuing to donate to the TLP programs you believe in, whether it be financially or through your time and efforts.
It’s been a tough year. We’ve seen things happening in the world and we’ve all been touched in some way by the pandemic. But the one thing that remains constant for TLP is that there are pit bulls in need in Dallas, Fort Worth, all throughout the State of Texas and beyond. Together with your support, we stand united to protect and rescue dogs in need. And that is something to be grateful for, that no matter what comes our way. We trust and believe good humans will continue to do good things.
As we’ve navigated 2020, our rescue has experienced some amazing achievements, like the successful adoptions of long-term fosters. We never stopped advocating for dogs with special needs. We formed our Fospice program to love and care for dogs as they prepare to cross the Rainbow Bridge. We learned that even in heartache, there is joy in knowing that we are advocating for pit bulls with all of our hearts. We open our doors to senior dogs, hospice dogs, medical cases -- not just the perfect dogs. We strive to help the perfectly imperfect dogs. And we can do this because of the support of our donor base, our volunteers, pit bull advocates and the good humans who actively seek out a way to end the suffering, neglect and abuse of a breed that has been misunderstood, misrepresented and historically mistreated. For that, our cup overflows with gratitude as an organization.
This holiday season, the continued operations of our rescue and the warmth and love our dogs experience in foster homes is owed to you. I look forward to 2021, the opportunity to rescue so many more pit bulls, and to hopefully one day soon meet you at an event to express my gratitude for your support of TLP in person.
So again, thank you for making a difference! Happy Holidays from the TLP Family!
