On June 10, 2015, our founder, Aften, was on her way to a work dinner when traffic suddenly began to swerve. In the middle of the road was a stray pit bull—wounded and walking into oncoming traffic.
While others drove around her, Aften pulled over, stepped into the street, and softly called, “Come here, Sweet Pea.” The dog lay down in surrender but despite her injuries, she wagged her tail and looked up with hope.
Sweet Pea’s rescue was the beginning of The Love Pit. She is the reason we exist—and the heartbeat behind everything we do.
